Use your diving skills to help protect central Oregon waterways!

Time & Location
Aug 23, 2025, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Deschutes County, Elk Lake, Oregon 97413, USA
About the event
Quagga and zebra mussels are an invasive species that when established have large impacts on recreation, native aquatic species, and water distribution. We plan to work with U.S. Fish and Wildlife to prevent their spread into Central Oregon.
This is a great way to utilize your dive skills to help protect the natural environments we love.
Participants must have a current open water dive certification from an internationally recognized agency and complete our online training prior to performing observations.
There is no cost for participating but we do suggest a $10 donation to help support this program. Divers do need to bring all personal diving equipment to the dive as no rentals will be available on site.
Register to receive the online training and additional information on the observation. You are also welcome to email us at: info@deepwaterconservation.org.
We look forward to seeing you there!
