About the event
This training is part of the Quagga Mussel Citizen Science program. Quagga and zebra mussels are an invasive species found across the country. This invasive mussel is having significant impacts on native species, outdoor recreation, and our water infrastructure. Quagga Mussel Citizen Science training will teach you to:
- Understand quagga mussel and it's impact on our ecosystems
- Properly identify quagga and zebra mussel
- How to accurately report observations to Deepwater Conservation Initiative
- How to participate in group observations
Our Quagga Mussel Citizen Science program is open to all certified recreational divers. In addition to adding purpose to your diving, participating in this project is a great way to be introduced to different dive sites across the state of Utah!
Please complete the registration to receive the meeting link. Registration will also give you credit for attending the class which gives divers access to Deepwater Conservation Initiative observation materials to start recording and submitting your findings.
